The 46th Annual Covered Bridge Celebration will be June 7-9th, 2012!!!
Experience on of the region’s most beautiful areas at the 46th Annual Covered Bridge Celebration in historic downtown Elizabethton, TN on June 7-9. Celebrate summer with fun activities for the entire family. Music on the Bridge will feature toe tapping live entertainment including gospel, bluegrass, 50’s and 60’s beach music and country rock entertainers. Southeastern artisans will display unique and traditional arts and crafts. Kids Island will offer fun filled activities including a stocked river and a free fishing clinic. Plus Saturday evening, the streets of historic downtown will showcase more than 150 classic cars.
 
 Built in 1882 for only $3,000 the 134-foot Elizabethton Covered Bridge has weathered the ravages and history and still stands as a testimony to the ingenuity and toughness of the people who energisze this scenic region. Today, the Covered Bridge is the centerpiece of the town and region, attracting visitors and soon-to-be homeowners who want to taste the good life, the simple life. We hope you will visit town and festival each year, shop downtown, and enjoy the scenic beauty and history that whispers of the better day, a better time.
The Elizabethton/Carter Country Covered Bridge Celebration was created in 1966 and has become the major festival of the year, featuring craftsman, artists, food, and entertainment from all over the region. In 2008, 10,000 to 15,000 visitors enjoyed the celebration and activities. There is sometion for everyone! Take time to look at the schedule of events for the 2009 Celebration.
